Abstract
High‐modulus carbon fibers in liquid suspension are aligned precisely by magnetic fields. Other man‐made fibers can also be aligned after coating with iron. This response has many applications in light‐scattering experiments and in the preparation of composites. Thin films of aligned fibers offer advantages in determinations of diameter and length distributions and in other types of examination.This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
