Abstract
A modified Z centre model is proposed for LiF:Mg,Ti, in which Z2 and Z3 centres correspond to TL peaks 7(260 oC) and 10(400 oC) respectively. Their optical absorption bands occur at 4.4 and 5.5 eV respectively satisfying the Mollwo-Ivey relationship. Supralinearity and sensitisation of different glow peaks arise due to elimination of competitors to luminescence centres. This model avoids the criticism levelled against a previous model of Nink and Kos.
