Abstract
We investigate the time-dependent Schrödinger equation for a coupling between two levels in a double-well quantum structure perturbed by a dc bias and an ac field. Almost complete localization of an electron is achieved for appropriate values of dc and ac field parameters. It is also shown that semi-infinite ac pulses can be used to localize an electron in one of the wells. General conditions required to localize the electron in one of the wells are also given based on an analytical treatment. Keywords
