Abstract
The theory of stresses and displacements in a two-layer linear viscoelastic medium is defined for quasi-static loading, full continuity at the layer interface, and variable material compressibility. Several illustrative cases are presented to show the influence of the material property parameters on the time-dependent surface deflection. Keywords
