Abstract
Sixteen cases of optic disc pits have been examined during the past eight years at the Birmingham and Midland Eye Hospital. All but one had visual loss because of macular involvement, ranging from shallow serous detachment to macular hole. The pit was found to be only a part of the optic disc abnormalities and its direct role as a channel for accumulating retinal and subretinal extracellular fluid is being questioned. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
