Abstract
A single-ion theory is used to account for the magnetic phase transitions (uvO) to or from (110) to or from (111) observed in samarium iron garnet (Sm2Fe55O12) at low temperatures, the low value of the magnetic moment at 0K, and the crossover temperature.Keywords
