Abstract
Due to an abundance of published empirical data. Rock Quality Designation (RQD) values (1) are commonly used for estimating rock-foundation performance in engineering practice. However, a numerical analyses can be performed more easily with a knowledge of average fracture spacing and load deformation behavior of the intact rock and the fractures. Keywords
