The concentration of selenium in the grain from wheat, barley and oats grown at selected locations throughout Manitoba

Abstract
The concentration of Se was measured in grain from wheat, barley and oats grown at 12 different locations throughout Manitoba. Concentrations in individual samples ranged from deficient (< 0.1 mg kg−1 DM) to higher than the maximum tolerable (> 2.0 mg kg−1 DM) by livestock. Within a location, the concentration of Se in a grain differed (P < 0.05) among years. Key words: Selenium, grain, wheat, barley, oats, Manitoba
