Abstract
The performance of learning disabled children was compared with that of normal children on the Boehm Test of Basic Concepts, a 50-item instrument designed to assess comprehension of concepts considered important for achievement in the first years of school. The LD were found to have a lower level as well as greater variability in their understanding of basic concepts. The greatest discrepancy of the LD group was found on concepts of quantity, space, and miscellaneous, respectively. It was concluded that LD children do not possess the same degree of understanding of basic concepts as normal children. Keywords
