Abstract
Examines and evaluates the functional determinants associated with a class of periodic operators which arise in the quantum theory of solitons. The functional determinants are expressed in terms of a finite subset of the spectrum of the operator, a subset which corresponds to the edges of the valency or conduction bands of the Schrodinger equation. Keywords
