Abstract
It is true as Flavell et al. point out that three of the features that we reported from our constant-initial-state scans in our earlier paper could be due to second-order light exciting a core level. However, this does not affect the main thrust of that paper, which was to determine the symmetry of the occupied O 2p states. In light of the Comment by Flavell et al., we review current evidence on the existence of an oxygen resonance in the high- superconductors.
