Abstract
A linear chain of XY dipoles coupled to the elastic degrees of freedom of the lattice is studied. For second-order coupling, in the presence of an external electric field, the dipolar kink-soliton excitations lead to soliton-like deformation of the lattice. First-order coupling mediates dipolar kink-solitons excitations which themselves induce kink-soliton deformation of the lattice. Keywords
