Abstract
By using the statistical-mechanical basic equations for shock wave phenomena in crystal lattices at finite temperatures, the Rankine-Hugoniot relations are derived from a microscopic point of view and their physical implications are discussed. Numerical analysis on the basis of the equations is also performed to elucidate microscopic modes, and the validity of the assumptions adopted in the derivation of the Rankine-Hugoniot relations is examined. Keywords
