Abstract
If the sharp peaks seen in the Darmstadt experiments are due to the loop bremsstrahlung (LB) mechanism, the suggestion is made that it should be possible to reproduce those peaks in a relatively simple low-Z ion experiment. ‘‘Rutherford scattering,’’ with detection added, could provide an independent test of LB. Estimates of for both and peaks are given.
