Abstract
The propagation of interface waves between two anisotropic (orthotropic) media is examined for various interface mechanical conditions. While perfect bonding yields Stoneley waves with the ad hoc combination of materials, slip conditions, either general or of the elastic type, or with Coulomb friction, allow one to show the existence of both sagittally and horizontally polarized interface waves. The latter, in particular, are dispersive and exhibit a cutoff that could be used as an indicator of the quality or deterioration of the bonding between materials at the interface. Keywords
