Abstract
The technical procedure and results with the author's patella glide bearing total prosthesis is reported. The endoprosthesis is made of polyethylene on the patellar side and a cobalt-chrome alloy on the femoral side. It can be applied solely or in connection with intramedullary total endoprostheses and also in combination with sled-type endoprostheses. In our immediate and early experience we find that this patella endoprosthesis does relieve retropatellar pain. We feel it is more physiologic than the simple patellectomy and enhances results of other endoprostheses of the knee joint. Keywords
