Abstract
Although the social rise of the "white ethnic" working class and the concomitant decline of the urban political machine has long been common knowledge, Stephen Weissman maintains that there is little systematic knowledge of the emerging patterns of urban politics. He attempts to provide a better understanding of contemporary while ethnic politics and policy through his case study of "reform" in Jersey City. Keywords
