Abstract
A method is described for measuring in man the sensitivity of selected peripheral blood vessels based on the quantitative measurement, by venous occlusion plethysmography, of the change in blood flow resulting from the introduction of minimal chemical stimuli into the brachial artery. Use of this method permits the separation of hypertensive individuals into two distinct categories: individuals with normal vascular function and those with vascular hypersensitivity. Keywords
