Abstract
Paramagnetic resonance measurements have been made at 4.2°K and 9 kMc/sec on Ce3+ in Y3Al5O12(YAG). The measured g values are gZ=2.738, gX=1.872, and gY=0.91. These values can be fitted accurately if an admixture of ∼0.1 of the J=7/2 state is added to the J=5/2 ground state. There is evidence of a small, field‐dependent component of the g value. This is used to get a rough estimate of the splitting of the lowest quartet state. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
