Abstract
1. This paper brings up-to-date and enlarges on certain aspects of the paper by Mr. B. P. Lambert (1) also presented to this conference, which was written in March 1963. The geodetic survey of Australia is making rapid progress and much has happened in three months. Much computing has been done, the results of which have not yet been fully studied. For this reason, this paper has little hope of presenting a balanced view of the operations taking place, and it should be read more as a despatch from a battle-field than as a page of history.
