Abstract
Histological studies of artificially inoculated aspen and peachleaf willow revealed that Nectria galligena penetrated the periderm directly. Penetration and establishment in the petiole base and leaf trace was noticeably more rapid than in the periderm. The resulting lesions in all infections were small and usually latent. Keywords
