Abstract

Data for the increments of growth and the body weights of laboratory white rats on diets designed to meet all their nutritional requirements were grouped according to sex and diet. The frequency distributions of these data showed good approximation to the classical bell-shaped curve. This is true for each of the sexes, for each of two normal diets, and for each of 2 periods of growth, namely, that from conception to 28 days after birth, and that from the 28th to the 56th day of the life of the rat.
