Abstract
The genus Amphorophora appears to be rich in species in North America and especially along the Pacific Coast. My studies so far indicate that many of these may now be undergoing speciation for there are a number that appear to graduate from what seems to be an obviously distinct species at one end of the chain to an equally distinct species on the other with intermediates between the two. Such a complex seems to exist in two or more species living on ferns. These have presented so many difficulties that I have been compelled to postpone drawing up descriptions of them until a more careful study is made of their, biology and distribution. A number of other species very closely related to some of those described herein must also await further study for the same reasons. Keywords
