Abstract
SUMMARY: The recovery rate of nitrogenase activity in Peltigera polydactyla, is shown to be rapid after short drought periods but takes progressively longer as the drought period is extended. After more extreme levels of dehydration achieved using calcium chloride, recovery of nitrogenase activity is considerably slower. The importance of adequate pretreatment of material collected from the field after exposure to unknown periods and levels of drought stress is emphasized.This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
