Abstract
The authors investigated the E-J relationship in segments of polycrystalline 123 superconducting wires up to 130 m long made by GA's Pacific Superconductors Division. This allowed measurement of the E(J) curves for electric fields down to 10-4 mu V/cm. These measurements were made at a number of temperatures between 80 and 20 K. They found that the data followed a power law behavior with an exponent n=15-20. This is in contrast to the exponential behavior expected from some models. A possible connection between these results and the polycrystalline character of these wires is discussed. Keywords
