Abstract
L’échographie du canal anal montre en détail l’anatomie des sphincters interne et externe. Leur interruption traumatique s’exprime par une rupture de la continuité ultrasonique du sphincter. La fragmentation du sphincter interne est spécifique d’une dilatation anale traumatique. L’échographie anale a montré que l’atteinte des deux sphincters est commune après un accouchement classique et est la principale cause d’incontinence fécale. L’échographie est préférable à l’analyse topographique des interruptions du sphincter externe par électromyographie et constitue une investigation fondamentale de l’incontinence fécale.Keywords
