W±andZ0polarization in pair production: Dominant helicities

Abstract
We analyze the angular distributions and polarization that are expected for Drell-Yan or e+e annihilation into boson pairs such as Wγ and WW. A helicity rule is formulated in renormalizable theories for massive-boson bremsstrahlung by a lepton or quark, relating the handedness of the boson to that of the fermion. The polarization for single-boson production in various reactions is also compared to this rule. A covariant W polarization basis is introduced in conjunction with the radiation representation for Wγ production.
