Abstract
The terms “attitude” and “opinion” are often used interchangeably. The author contends that, though attitude and opinion responses have super ficial similarities, their roots seem to reach in opposite directions and that confusion of the two entities has lead to further confusion of the appropriate criteria of validation. In this article, Dr. Wiebe attempts a differentiation between attitudes and opinions and discusses the effects of the distinction.
