ALLOGRAT REJECTION IN EISENIA FOETIDA

Abstract
SUMMARY: To determine the capacity of earthworms to react to tissue alloantigens, allografts were exchanged between adult earthworms, Eisenia foetida. After healing in, most grafts showed signs of destruction charaeterized mainly by pigment cell destruction. The rejections occurred in a chronic fashion between 15 and 255 days. Onsets of rejection were usually late but apparently did not influence the rejection time.
