Abstract
A 3½-year-old child with a giant cystic non-functioning kidney underwent laparoscopic nephrectomy without incident. The hospitalization time was less than twenty-four hours and no morbidity was encountered. This communication calls attention to the fact that laparoscopic nephrectomy is possible in the pediatric patient and that other ablative and reconstructive laparoscopic procedures in children are feasible. Keywords
