Stereotactic Evaluation of Bitemporal Epilepsy with Electrodes and Lesions

Abstract
The authors have presented 5 cases of bitemporal epilepsy which were investigated by stereotactic electrode implantation and subsequent treating by stereotactic lesioning. The treated patients showed either relief from seizures or improvement in their seizure control. It is anticipated that further application of this technique will prove beneficial to a segment of epileptics who previously have been uncontrolled by medication and excluded from surgical intervention.
