Nanosecond-tunable double-section DFB laser for dynamic wavelength addressing applications

Abstract

Fast tuning among eight wavelengths with switching times <5 ns is reported. A current-injection tuning scheme is presented which minimises thermal effects over a continuous range of 3.2 Å.
