Abstract
The survey took the form of a mailed questionnaire that was filled out anonymously. Eighty-five returns made up a 77% response rate. Overall, respondents felt that there were more heavy drinkers in the gay community than in the general, that sexual orientation should be taken into account when intervention takes place, and that the situation is not one that encourages gays to come for treatment. By and large comments disapproved of homophobia rather than homosexuality. Not many respondents showed that they knew much on lesbian-male gay differences, but there were few whose open-ended answers showed that they were insightful on homosexuals in general. This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
