Abstract
Presentation of CaseA seventy-three-year-old man entered the hospital because of vomiting and diarrhea.He had been well until three weeks previously, when a headache, vomiting, a cough productive of sputum and fever developed after strenuous physical exertion. Demethylchlortetracycline (Declomycin) was given. The temperature returned to normal but rose again one week later, and the demethylchlortetracycline therapy was resumed. The headache and vomiting recurred, accompanied by diarrhea. The patient was confused for several days before entry. He lost an unknown amount of weight during the three-week period.There was no history of diabetes, rheumatic fever, hypertension or arthritis.Physical examination . . .Keywords
