Abstract
A method of determining the relative toxicity of contact insecticides to Aphis rumicis L. has been devised that may be used in place of the usual spray tests in cases where greater precision is desirable. Nicotine and nicotine sulphate have been used in developing the method and to serve as standards of comparison of the toxicity of other compounds. Toxicity curves have been determined in two ways for each compound, one in which concentration is variable with time of immersion constant, whereas in the other the time of immersion is variable with concentration constant.
