Thyroidal Regulation of Alkaline Phosphatase Activity in Kidney Cortex Brush Border Membranes

Abstract
In kidney cortex homogenates and brush border membranes of hypothyroid rats undergoing T3 substitution with 50 µg/kg BW a day for 1–4 days, a significant decrease of alkaline phosphatase activity was observed. The data indicate that thyroid hormones may affect the luminal membrane.
