Abstract
The combination of a /spl Sigma/-/spl Delta/ modulator-based finite impulse response (FIR) filter and a low-Q biquad is shown to be capable of achieving similar specifications to those of a pure FIR filter several times longer if both are implemented in analog form and therefore suffer from imperfect coefficient-matching. The proposed hybrid filter provides a cost-effective way of implementing linear-phase filters in analog form.
