Abstract
The static electric quadrupole moments of the first 2+ states of 106, 108Cd have been measured by Coulomb excitation. The measured moments are significantly smaller than previously reported values and indicate a gradual change in quadrupole moment across both the isotopes of Cd and the N=58 and 60 isotones. Keywords
