Abstract
We report the results of experiments on the ISX- (impurity-study experiment) tokamak that demonstrate the technique of plasma fueling by solid-hydrogen-pellet injection. The results show that density increases of up to 30% or more can be realized without apparent deleterious effects on plasma stability and confinement.
