Abstract
Modification of the phase detection circuit of a commercial phase‐lock synchronizer is described. The new phase detector is a digital phase‐frequency discriminator. The locks obtained with a millimeter wavelength klystron using this modification are much easier to obtain and are much more stable. In addition, phase locking is obtained only for one of the sidebands formed by mixing the klystron with reference source. Keywords
