MALFORMATION INVOLVING EXTERNAL, MIDDLE AND INTERNAL EAR, WITH OTOSCLEROTIC FOCUS

Abstract
A deformed auricle and an occluded external auditory canal are indications that there may be further malformations within the confines of the middle and the internal ear. Such a situation occurred in the following case. REPORT OF A CASE A white girl aged 10 years was struck by an automobile and died in the hospital after a few hours. The body was 59 inches (150 cm.) long; multiple fractures of the base of the skull were found. The left ear was of normal size and shape, but on the right side there was only a cartilaginous ridge, 3 cm. long, crescentic in shape and concave anteriorly.
