Employee Attitudes as a Function of Age and Length of Service: A Reconceptualization.

Abstract
The data reported here suggest: (1) a linear positive relationship between employee satisfaction and age, and (2) a linear negative relationship between employee satisfaction and length of service. The data also indicate that both relationships are asymptotic, thus suggesting limits on increments and decrements in satisfaction as a function of the two explanatory variables. The authors otter explanations for these relationships which have implications for theory, research, and practice.
