Microscopic Cluster Model for the FormulaBe Hypernucleus

Abstract
The microscopic α + α + Λ cluster model is applied to describe the low-lying positive and negative parity states of 9ΛBe. The ground rotational band shows a weak coupling behavior between Λ and 8Be, while the negative parity states show a strong-coupling type band structure with K = 0 and K = 1. The Λ binding energy in the ground state agrees very well with the observed value. The K = 0 and K = 1 band-head energies are in good correspondence to the 9Be(K, π)9ΛBe reaction data. Spectroscopic factors for the Λ + 8Be and α + 5ΛHe channels are evaluated. Electric quadrupole transition probabilities B(E2) are predicted.
