Abstract
Primarily by means of a technic which was described as "spectrophotometry with time resolution," an intermediate compound in the catalase-hydrogen peroxide system was characterized. This compound had a high affinity for H2O2, existed at a constant concn. during catalytic activity, and decomposed slowly in the absence of alcs. and rapidly in their presence. The compound appeared to be a ferric-iron hydrogen-peroxide complex, which had many properties in common with those of peroxidase. The complex had per-oxidase and catalytic properties. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
