Abstract
The time-dependent partial differential equation of the "separation column" of Clusius and Dickel has been solved exactly. Only an approximate solution, subject to the restriction that the fractional concentration is everywhere small compared to unity, was known previously. The present work makes a comparison between theory and experiment possible over the full range of concentration values.
