In recent years social psychologists have become in creasingly self-conscious about their discipline both in terms of what we ought to be investigating and in how these investigations ought to be carried out. In this article, the author discusses some advantages to loosening up, taking risks, and making individ ual (as opposed to group) decisions about which problems are worth researching. Keywords
