INFLUENCE OF FORAGE SOURCE AND LEVEL ON INTAKE, MILK PRODUCTION, GROWTH HORMONE, RATE OF PASSAGE AND BODY COMPOSITION DURING LACTATION

Abstract
Dry matter intake and growth hormone levels were affected by forage source and level. Milk production was influenced by forage source. Quadratic response was shown for rumen turnover rate as lactation progressed. Cows fed diets with 55% forage had more body fat than those fed diets with 75% forage. Key words: Intake, forage, passage, body composition, milk
