Abstract
THE purpose of this paper is to discuss multiple peritoneal autotransplantation of splenic tissue following traumatic rupture of the spleen and to present a summary of reported cases, together with the first report of a case occurring in an adult.In the cases hitherto reported, all patients had in youth survived traumatic rupture of the spleen and later, either at reoperation or autopsy, numerous spleenlike nodules were found scattered over the various peritoneal surfaces, including the omentum, small and large intestine, diaphragm and pelvic cavity.
