The Effect of a Latent CELO Virus Infection in the Chicken Embryo, on the Propagation of Newcastle Disease and Influenza Viruses

Abstract
A latent CELO virus infection in embryonated eggs interfered with the propagation of Newcastle disease virus (Kan-Manhattan strain) and influenza A virus (PR8 strain). There was a reduction in both hemagglutination and infectivity titers. The differences in titers of NDV and influenza virus in the presence of CELO were found between 32 and 48 hr. postinoculation and were significant 44 hr. after inoculation.
