Abstract
Nine vibration-rotation transitions of the fundamental band of have been observed in absorption by using a tunable, infrared, difference-frequency laser source. The molecular constants for the and levels of the state have been determined and they agree very will with those derived from the ab initio calculation of Bishop and Cheung.
